Jubilee Bailey

Jubilee received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine at Farmington.  She majored in early childhood education, with a minor in psychology.  Jubilee has worked for Head Start for fifteen years.  As part of a collaboration between Head Start and RSU 9, she is currently working at the Mallett School in Farmington as a Pre-K teacher and home visitor.  Jubilee resides in Jay with her husband, Jeff, and their daughter, Lily.

 

Jennifer Baker

Jennifer grew up locally, in New Vineyard, and attended Mt. Blue High School before graduating from Mt. Holyoke College and getting her master's degree in education at the University of Maine at Farmington.  She has worked for 14 years as a middle and high school English/Social Studies teacher and will be starting a new position at Spruce Mountain Middle School this fall. She currently lives in their home in Wilton with her husband, young daughter, and a veritable menagerie of pets.

 

Kariss Richards

Kariss has worked at Otis Federal Credit Union in Jay for 9 years, currently as a loan officer.  Additionally, she’s served as treasurer for the Jay Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization since 2012.

 

Chris Bennett

Chris grew up in Georgia, living far from any snow accumulation until he completed his graduate studies at the University of Georgia in 2007. He and his wife moved to Maine, where he is now Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Maine Farmington. He lives in Wayne with his wife, two children, and their pets.

 

Gabriel Civiello

Gabe was born and raised in Millinocket, Maine, attended Bowdoin College as an undergraduate, then received his medical degree from Dartmouth. He spent the last four years training in pediatrics at Maine Medical Center.  He most recently joined the Department of Pediatrics at Franklin Memorial Hospital.  He currently resides in Wilton with his wife and four children.  

 

Joan Egdall

Joan graduated from Jay High School; then St. Lawrence University in North Country, New York; and finally, Northeastern Law School in Boston.  After a successful legal career in Massachusetts, she returned to Maine and settled in Farmington where she owned and operated a retail scrapbook store for several years before returning to the law.  She currently works at the Law Office of Frank Underkuffler in Farmington and resides in Jay with her husband, Dave, and their two sons, Ethan and Noah.  She is a member of the Massachusetts and Maine Bar and a member of the Franklin County Bar Association.

 

Elaine Fitzgerald

Elaine spent her early years in Massachusetts, Philadelphia and Aroostook County.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Speech Correction from the University of Maine at Farmington.  Her first 13 years in education were spent serving students as a speech and language therapist in SAD #9 and Jay.  She served as a grade 3 educator for the past 25 years at Jay Elementary School.  During her 38 years in education Elaine has served her school community in a number of leadership positions.  She and her husband have resided in Jay since 1980 and have raised a daughter and son. Elaine is a full time caregiver to her mother and enjoys her 7 grandchildren and outdoor activities.

 

Nicole Knowles, CPA--Treasurer

 Nikki received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and her Master of Business Administration degrees from Thomas College. Immediately following graduation, she started her career as a tax and audit accountant, working first for a firm in Portland as a staff accountant, then later for a firm in Auburn as a senior accountant. After seven years in public accounting, she decided to switch gears a little and is now employed at Western Mountain Financial Services in Farmington, where she has been working as a financial advisor’s assistant since May of 2012. Nikki earned her Certified Public Accountant License (CPA) in 2014. Nikki resides in Peru with her husband, Dean, and their sons, Ethan and Adrian.

 

 

Jessica Lewis

Jessica graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington in 2003 with her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. In the fall of 2006, she opened Inch by Inch Preschool in Wilton. She lives in Chesterville with her husband, Ken, and their two sons Ben, 5, and Alex, 3.

 

Lori Lewis--Vice President

Lori  graduated from Emmanuel College in Boston, and got her Master of Arts in Teaching English at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.  She  taught English and American Sign Language for 35 years in RSD9, the University of Maine at Farmington, and in several areas of the U.S. and in Micronesia.  She has also been an ASL interpreter, and is now fully retired. She and her husband Craig raised their family on the lake in Wilton, and they have two young grandchildren.

 

Angela McLeod--President

Angela received her Master of Social Work degree from Boston College in 2003.  She concentrated in community organizing, planning, policy, and administration.  For the past ten years, Angela has worked for the VA Maine Healthcare system, serving Veterans and their families.  Angela lives in Wilton with her two young boys, Teddy and Wyatt.  

 

Marylena Chaisson--Secretary

Marylena grew up in Skowhegan and attended the University of Maine at Farmington before completing her Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Southern Maine.  She works in private practice and supervising an adult residential program in Rumford, emphasizing play and creative expression for healing and improving mental health.  She is Co-President of the Maine Mental Health Counselors Association.  Marylena resides in Wilton with her husband Jeff and their two young daughters.

 

Cynthia Stevens

Cindy received her Bachelor’s of Science in Education from Plymouth State College and her Master’s in Educational Leadership from UMF. She taught early elementary grades for over 40 years in New Hampshire and Maine. During this time she received several awards for excellence in teaching Science and History to young children. This year Cindy accepted a new challenge as a Field Supervisor for Practicum and Advanced Practicum students at UMF.
